Apakah hubungan Zahid Hamidi dengan Paul Phua kongsi gelap 14K?

Terima kasih BN?

Apakah hubungan Zahid Hamidi dengan Paul Phua kongsi gelap 14K?

Gambling kingpin's ties with govt questioned by opposition

paul-phuaThe extent of the Home Ministry's solidarity and collaboration on matters "affecting national security" with Malaysian gambling kingpin Paul Phua Wei Seng must be disclosed, says PKR leader Fahmi Fadzil.
In an article by the South China Morning Post, dated December 31, it was reported that Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid extended a letter to the FBI, vouching for Phua by saying he was not part of the 14K triad.
He added that "Phua has, on numerous occasions, assisted the government of Malaysia on projects affecting our national security."
This has come as a surprise to many given Phua's extensive involvement in illegal gambling. He was arrested in Macau last year following a crackdown on an online betting ring and was later deported.
Local authorities claim Phua took around HK$5 billion in bets, making it the largest crackdown in the gambling hub's history.
He also faces trial in Las Vegas, standing accused for running illegal gambling operations during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
An internal document by the FBI indicates that Phua has ties with the 14K triad. According to the FBI, this information was provided by the Royal Malaysian Police.
The Hong Kong-based 14K is considered to be one of the largest in the world and has its roots in large-scale drug trafficking, illegal gambling and money laundering, just to name a few.
Phua's lawyers are challenging the credibility of evidences and deny his involvements with the triad.
The Malaysian was a prominent junket operator before going into high-stakes poker.
In 2011, European state San Marino appointed Phua as its ambassador to Montenegro, granting him a diplomatic passport in the process.
